One of the most respected tennis players in the world is Rafael Nadal. A quick look at his picture may already get you moving in understanding why many of us are in awe. However there is more to him than meets the eye.

You look at him and you may straight away spot the boylike charms that will turn out to be quite enchanting to most, or all. Then, you continue with your observation, and you will notice how well-maintained his physique is. With all the sessions and consistent practice, it is no wonder that he'd have the body ideal for achieving a shocking performance.

Rafa as he's more famously know was born in Spain. Though both of his parents were not in the world of sports, his other relatives were. He has uncle who used to be a pro soccer player. But , it was his other uncle who introduced him to the sports, as he himself was a previous pro tennis player.

He started at the young age of three. When his uncle realized that he had the natural talent for it, he trained him. When he reached 8, he was ready to bag the under-12 regional championship title. Because of this, his uncle intensified the coaching to harness his potential.

You are able to say that he was born for sports. Not only was he considered a promising sportsman for tennis, but he was also rather encouraging in soccer. He was asked to make a choice by his father and by now, you should know which one he chose.

At the age of 15, he became a professional. Before that, he was requested by the tennis federation to resume his training in Barcelona. However his uncle convinced him otherwise. Toni, his uncle, didn't believe he had to go some place else to be an exemplary athlete as this can be simply done at home.

There was less fiscal support given by the federation, so his father paid for a significant portion of the costs. That is how you can see what kind of commitment Rafa and his family have with respect to the game. With all the tough work and commitment put into it, you are able to say that their efforts have paid off, no joke intended.

Because he started quite young, he was also in a position to add records under his belt for being the youngest player for certain events. And, if there is one title that he is most well-known for, it is for being called as the king of clay. With how well he performs on these courts, many gurus have even hailed Rafael Nadal as the greatest clay court player in the history of tennis.
